Associate Director – Value Creation Services
A leading advisory firm is looking to hire an Associate Director into its Value Creation Services team in the UK. This is a key hire within a fast-growing deals practice, supporting private equity and corporate clients across the full transaction lifecycle as they focus on driving operational performance.
You will join a small, high-impact team that plays a central role within the firm’s M&A and Deals offering. The team works on both buy-side and sell-side transactions, as well as post-deal and transformation engagements, helping management teams convert strategic priorities into measurable value.
The Role
As an Associate Director, you will lead the day-to-day delivery of value creation, operational due diligence and working capital engagements across a broad range of sectors.
Working closely with Partners and senior leadership, you will take ownership of complex workstreams, shape problem-solving approaches and translate analysis into clear, actionable recommendations for clients. The role combines hands-on delivery with client interaction, people leadership and contribution to the continued growth of the Value Creation Services offering. Engagements are often transaction-driven and fast paced, requiring strong commercial judgement and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. You will also play an active role in business development, proposition development and thought leadership.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the delivery of value creation, operational due diligence and working capital engagements.
* Identify strategic value creation opportunities and shape analytical and delivery approaches.
* Manage engagement planning, budgeting and timelines to ensure high-quality outcomes.
* Deliver financial and operational analysis focused on EBITDA improvement and cash release.
* Manage and develop junior team members through coaching, feedback and on-the-job leadership.
* Build and maintain strong client relationships across portfolio companies, management teams and investors.
* Support business development activity, including pitches, proposals and client origination.
* Contribute to the development of service offerings, methodologies and thought leadership.
Candidate Profile
* Experience delivering value creation, operational due diligence or operational transformation engagements.
* Strong understanding of business operations across front-line and back-office functions.
* Exposure to M&A environments, including buy-side, sell-side, carve-outs or post-merger integration.
* Experience analysing operational opportunities for EBITDA and cash improvement.
* Proven ability to manage projects, stakeholders and junior team members.
* Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
* Comfortable operating across multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
* Flexible, hands-on mindset with the credibility to engage senior client stakeholders.
