Offer description

Are you a creative storyteller with an eye for bold, attention-grabbing design? Do you thrive on turning ideas into visually compelling content that captures attention in seconds? We're looking for a Digital Broadcast Manager & Design Specialist to take ownership of our digital screen network — from concept and design through to scheduling, compliance, and go-live delivery.

As a Digital Broadcasting Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day delivery and continuous improvement of Nationwide's digital broadcasting activity. Working alongside members of the team who are focused on live broadcasts & video your role will focus on content design, scheduling and governance of our Digital Signage, On-Demand and Radio channels which helps colleagues feel informed, connected and confident about our priorities and performance. You will also be required to help with live broadcasts from time to time as cover so experience in this area would be desirable, but not essential.

You'll be responsible for designing high-impact visual content for our Digital Signage platforms. This includes creating engaging graphics, motion visuals, and promotional messaging tailored to different audiences and environments. You'll also manage the content lifecycle for Digital Signage, Radio and On-Demand content — scheduling, publishing, and ensuring all materials meet our risk and compliance standards before going live.

Working closely with senior leaders, communications colleagues and communication partners, you'll provide practical advice on design formats and approaches that support clear and effective communication. You'll help translate complex or sensitive messages into engaging digital & audio content, focusing on structure, clarity and delivery rather than setting overall communication strategy.

In addition to Digital Signage, you will also oversee content for our Nationwide Radio and Video-On-Demand (VOD) platforms, ensuring consistent messaging, brand alignment, and compliance across all channels.

This role is not just about design — it's about owning the full content lifecycle across screens, sound, and video. You'll be responsible for ensuring the right message reaches the right audience, in the right format, at the right time — safely and compliantly.
Through consistent delivery, strong governance and continuous optimisation, you'll help ensure digital broadcasting remains a trusted, reliable and valued channel for colleagues across the business.

This role is within Group Customer & Communications, which is responsible for building and maintaining Nationwide's brand and reputation both for customers and colleagues.
Digital broadcasting channels play an important role in how we connect with colleagues at scale. Through leadership broadcasts, radio, video and digital signage, this role helps colleagues understand Nationwide's strategy, how we're performing, and how their work contributes to our purpose.

Through thoughtful use of insight and continuous improvement, the role also helps Nationwide evolve how it uses digital broadcasting. This ensures our channels remain relevant, reliable and valued by colleagues, supporting long term engagement and advocacy.

At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.

For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at either our Swindon or London office. If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works. You can also find out more about our approach to hybrid working here.

If we receive a high volume of relevant applications, we may close the advert earlier than the advertised date, so please apply as soon as you can.

What you'll be doing

In this role, you'll be responsible for designing bold, engaging content for digital signage screens alongside creating graphics, motion assets and promotional visuals using modern design tools whilst managing content calendars and campaign rollouts. Additionally, you'll need to maintain brand consistency across all digital assets.

You'll ensure all signage content passes the appropriate risk assessment and approval process. By monitoring performance and refreshing content, you'll ensure it is both relevant and engaging and you'll plan upcoming content activity, coordinate schedules and balance priorities across multiple channels and requests.

Furthermore, you'll plan, create and manage audio and video content for our Nationwide Radio and VOD platforms as well as adapting campaigns for different formats, such as visual screens, audio messaging and video ensuring you maintain impact and clarity.
Working alongside 3rd parties, you'll coordinate scripting, voiceovers, video assets and production workflows.
About you

As a minimum requirement, you'll have/be:

A strong portfolio showcasing attention-grabbing visual design
Experience with design platforms (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Figma, or similar)
Understanding of digital signage best practices (short dwell times, readability, impact)
Experience scheduling and managing digital content systems
The ability to assess content risk and ensure compliance before publication
Confidence working with senior stakeholders, providing clear advice and managing expectations
Able to translate complex or strategic messages into clear, engaging content
Comfortable using data, insight and feedback to evaluate impact and improve future activity
A collaborative, solutions focused approach, with the flexibility to respond calmly to last-minute changes or issues
