Salary: GBP31,720.00+ gross per annum.

Wage/Salary: GBP15.00 GPA for weekdays. GBP17.00 GPA for weekends. GBP12.50 GPA for nights (10pm - 6am).
Driver Essential: Yes, own car needed to drive to the client’s location. Wheelchair accessible vehicle (automatic) to use on duty.
Essential: Professional experience working with children and young people. Confident swimmer. Non-smoker/vaper.
Desirable: Experience supporting young clients with physical and learning disabilities. Experience providing personal care. Experience working in a family home setting.
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: Full-time role, 30-40 hours per week (dependent on candidate’s availability). Rota made 3 months in advance. Mix of days, on-call nights, and weekends (2 per month). Consecutive days off provided when working a weekend shift.
Accommodation: Separate room with bed, en-suite bathroom, and facilities for tea/coffee and microwave during night shifts.

About the Client/Child: Alex (17) is a sociable and active young man living with his family. He attends 6th form and enjoys swimming, hockey, trampolining, going to the gym, and trips to the Calvert Trust. Due to an Acquired Brain Injury, Alex has Cerebral Palsy, developmental delay, visual impairment, and epilepsy, well-managed with medication. He benefits from a supportive team that helps him enjoy his daily activities.
Role Overview: During term time, support with daily living tasks including manual handling, transfers, personal care, dressing, and feeding. Alex uses a manual wheelchair and walks daily with support. Full training on manual handling is provided. Support includes outings such as swimming, gym, and therapy sessions. The team also participates in accessible activity breaks at places like the Calvert Trust. The rota is planned 3 months ahead, often combining different shifts including after school, night on-call, and weekend days.
