Engineering Apprentice role at 7 Steel UK
Join 7 Steel UK, one of the UK’s largest steel producers, for a 4‑year Engineering Apprenticeship. You will learn the theory and gain hands‑on experience to become a Mechanical or Electrical Craftsperson.
Responsibilities
* Prevent and react to breakdowns in and around the plant.
* Fault‑find electrical motors or rebuild industrial gearboxes, depending on the apprenticeship path.
* Learn and apply knowledge and skills provided by lecturers, mentors and coaches.
Qualifications
* 4 GCSEs at grade C or above (including Maths and English).
* Passionate about Engineering, enthusiastic, responsible and motivated to learn.
* *If you currently have NVQ Level 2 Performing Engineering Operations, you may be eligible to join as a second year apprentice.
What you will gain
* 4‑year apprenticeship with full‑time study at Bridgend College in the first year.
* Competent and qualified in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Maintenance.
* Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 Performing Engineering Operations, VRQ Level 3 Diploma in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical), NVQ Level 3 Engineering Maintenance, Essential Skills at Level 2.
* Incremental salary increase up to £36,000, based on qualification completion and shift pattern. Once qualified you can earn between £36,000 - £41,000 annually.
