Process Improvement Engineer

Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 (dependent on experience)
Our client, based near Coleshill, has been a recognised market leader for almost 40 years in the design, development, manufacturing and distribution of an impressive portfolio of solutions worldwide. They are looking for an experienced, hands‑on and proactive Process Improvement Engineer to complement their professional manufacturing team.
Responsibilities
* Identify and implement process improvements using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality.
* Collaborate with engineering teams to perform DMAIC activities and provide technical guidance for production quality and efficiency.
* Monitor and analyze KPIs to identify improvement opportunities and take corrective action.
* Drive Lean manufacturing initiatives, optimize operations, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
* Establish relationships with shift supervisors or process implementers to assess needs and objectives, and train/mentor colleagues on SOPs, kaizen events, and lean principles.
* Manage projects through implementation, deliver on time and within budget, improve factory floor layouts and workflow, and liaise with Engineering for procurement and implementation of new plant equipment.
* Verify implemented changes to ensure sustained results.
Qualifications
* Minimum 5 years proven experience in a dedicated process improvement manufacturing environment.
* Proficiency in Lean manufacturing processes and methodologies (Six Sigma, 5S, PDCA, Kaizen, Kanban, etc.).
* HND level (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline; experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office suite.
* Strong influencing and communication skills at all levels.
* A data‑driven approach to problem diagnosis, measurement, root‑cause analysis, solution selection, implementation, and control/sustainment.
* Ability to motivate others to embrace continuous improvement.
