This role focuses on empowerment, safety planning and reducing risk through effective advocacy. As an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor / IDVA Male Victims’ Support Worker, you will manage a complex caseload, complete DASH risk assessments and represent victims within multi-agency forums, including MARAC, ensuring their voice remains central to safeguarding decisions. The Independent Domestic Violence Advisor / IDVA Male Victims’ Support Worker role requires resilience, empathy and a strong understanding of the dynamics of abuse, enabling victims to regain control, access protection and move towards long-term safety. DUTIES Your duties as the Independent Domestic Violence Advisor / IDVA Male Victims’ Support Worker include: Risk Assessment and Safety Planning: Undertaking DASH assessments and creating tailored safety plans High-Risk Case Management: Managing complex domestic abuse cases involving multiple risk factors Victim Advocacy: Advocating for victims within multi-agency settings, including MARAC Safeguarding Practice: Identifying and responding to safeguarding concerns for adults and children Multi-Agency Working: Developing strong working relationships with statutory and voluntary partners Empowerment Support: Supporting victims to recognise abuse dynamics and make informed decisions Criminal Justice Awareness: Providing information on protective orders and justice options Accurate Case Recording: Maintaining detailed, timely and confidential case records Group Work Delivery: Supporting or facilitating group sessions when required CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS ESSENTIAL Previous experience supporting victims or survivors of domestic abuse or interpersonal violence Experience of managing complex caseloads within a safeguarding environment Strong understanding of risk assessment, safety planning and trauma-informed practice Ability to work confidently within multi-agency and MARAC settings Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report writing Ability to manage workload effectively and meet agreed timescales A compassionate, client-centred and non-judgemental approach DESIRABLE IDVA qualification or willingness to undertake IDVA training Experience of group work facilitation Knowledge of civil and criminal justice remedies related to domestic abuse Experience working with male victims or marginalised groups BENEFITS 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata) Pension scheme with employer contribution Mileage allowance Training and development opportunities Employee Assistance Programme Clinical group supervision Time off in lieu Wellbeing day and annual leave buy-back scheme This role requires a DBS check APPLY TODAY… By submitting your job application to us you are hereby giving us your express consent to submit your details to our Client for this purpose.
