Overview
A major multi-strategy firm is looking to add a Quantitative Developer for its Front Office Risk Technology team in London. You’ll be at the core of the firm’s risk management operations, building and enhancing the systems that provide real-time market risk, liquidity, and P&L analytics. This position involves direct partnership with portfolio managers, quant researchers, and the Chief Risk Officer to develop a sophisticated risk platform that drives capital allocation across a diverse range of global strategies.
Responsibilities
* Design and build microservices for real-time calculation of VaR, stress tests, scenarios, and intraday limit utilization.
* Develop high-throughput data pipelines for market, trade, and reference data, with a focus on achieving sub-second latency.
* Create intuitive, web-based dashboards for portfolio managers and risk officers to analyze exposures during live market events.
* Collaborate with the Quantitative and Risk teams to productionize new models, ensuring best practices in testing and code review.
* Contribute to DevOps automation, including CI/CD, containerization, and observability, to ensure the 24x6 resilience of the platform.
Experience & Qualifications
* 3-10 years of experience building production systems in a front-office trading, hedge fund, or high-growth tech environment.
* Python skills for numerical computing, along with strong data engineering fundamentals. Experience with C++ or Rust is welcomed.
* Familiarity with risk concepts such as VaR, sensitivities, and margin, as well as an understanding of market microstructure.
* Proven ability to make critical architecture and release decisions in a live trading environment.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex model requirements into robust code.
* A team-first mindset, intellectual humility, and an eagerness to iterate quickly.
