Senior Tooling Design Engineer

We're working with a highly respected engineering and manufacturing organisation that is investing heavily in new product development and advanced technology. They are looking for a Senior Tooling Design Engineer to own design activities and deliver robust engineering solutions that meet customer and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
* Design tooling, jigs, fixtures, and mechanical components to customer requirements
* Produce outline and detailed design concepts
* Identify and resolve engineering challenges with effective technical solutions
* Evaluate product performance, reliability, and safety
* Modify and refine designs to meet project and customer requirements
* Estimate project scope, budgets, and timelines
* Manage engineering risk and opportunity throughout the project lifecycle
* Prepare technical reports, calculations, and design documentation
* Support continuous improvement and development of new engineering methods
* Collaborate with internal teams and support junior engineers
What We're Looking For
* Experience in a Senior Design Engineer or Mechanical Design Engineer role
* Strong background in valves, pressure vessels, structural design, tooling, or lifting equipment (or similar heavy engineering environments)
* Proven experience delivering mechanical engineering projects
* Good understanding of design codes, standards, and safety legislation
* Ability to manage full design project lifecycles (requirements, concept, detailed design)
* Strong knowledge of engineering materials
* Experience with 3D CAD (Siemens NX or similar)
* Experience using PLM systems (Teamcentre or similar)
* Familiarity with engineering analysis tools (MathCAD, ANSYS, ABAQUS or similar)
* Engineering degree (BEng or equivalent)
* SC Clearance or eligibility to obtain it
* Experience supporting or mentoring team members
