Overview

Full time hours – 37.5 per week

Rate of pay – dependant on experience

The Avenue Surgery has an opportunity for an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Reception team leader to join our practice. The team leader plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the reception area. The individual will be responsible for the efficient management and direction of the reception team, ensuring all reception duties are performed effectively and to the required standard, meeting the objectives of the practice.

The ideal candidate will have excellent IT skills, manage patient interactions and maintain a welcoming and professional environment for all our patients and visitors. The team leader is responsible for ensuring that all admin tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the practice, supporting the practice management team in creating a positive, collaborative culture within the team, ensuring the team embraces change and continuous learning and development. There will be other duties as directed by the practice management team.

The individual will also be required to work as part of the core reception team, to provide a point of contact for patients. To facilitate effective communication between patients and the Primary Care Health team, promoting a positive image of the practice to its patients and other service users.

Who we are:

We are a large training practice, providing all aspects of primary care to circa. 18,500 patients, with a Good CQC rating. We have an extremely friendly team which includes specialist nurses, HCAs, visiting paramedics as well as medicines management team and living well specialists to support our elderly population. The teams are all supported by dedicated administration members. We also have close links to our district nurse team.

Role requirements as a minimum:

* Previous experience in a reception or administrative management role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
* Experience of quality improvement and change management.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Clear polite telephone manner with good listening skills.
* Experience of working with the public. Ability to work with clear policy of confidentiality.
* Excellent customer care skills. Disciplined and organised, with the ability to work under pressure and manage own time.
* Able to work as part of a team, co-operating to work together and willing to help and assist wherever possible and appropriate.
