Primary School Caretaker Location: Liverpool Contract: Temporary Salary: £13.69 - £15.00 per hour Start Date: As soon as possible We are seeking a reliable, practical and committed Caretaker to join our friendly primary school in Liverpool. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring our school premises are safe, secure, clean and well maintained for pupils, staff and visitors. Key Responsibilities Opening and closing the school premises, including securing buildings and grounds Carrying out routine maintenance, repairs and minor DIY tasks Ensuring health and safety standards are met at all times Maintaining cleanliness of external areas and supporting cleaning staff as required Monitoring heating, lighting and water systems Managing deliveries and setting up rooms for school activities and events Reporting faults, damage or health and safety concerns promptly Liaising with contractors and overseeing work on site The Ideal Candidate Will Have Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply Previous caretaking, maintenance or site management experience (school experience desirable but not essential) Good practical and DIY skills Knowledge of basic health and safety procedures A proactive, flexible and dependable approach to work The ability to work independently and as part of a team Good communication and organisational skills We Offer A supportive and welcoming school community Opportunities for training and development Local Government Pension Scheme (if applicable) A role that makes a real difference to children’s daily school experience Safeguarding: The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
