Job Description
* Lead the product, sourcing & brand strategy.
* To lead and implement product category strategies and to maximise performance & KPI's across multiple product areas.
* To drive and implement clear fashion trends to ensure exciting and commercial ranges are created across the appropriate customer group.
* Achieve a bought-in margin (BIM) that supports market competitive prices, sales targets and a good, better, best range that is in line with competition that achieves the Dept BIM.
* To innovate & implement in terms of product opportunity, range and attributes through strategic thinking.
* Input into the development of the Supplier strategy for your departments.
* To regularly seek out and meet new Suppliers to understand the Global Market, and act upon the opportunities within.
* Take ownership of omni-channel Trading across all customer facias.
* To strategically plan to react and trade to sales on volume lines by working closely with the Merchandising teams.
* Maintain a high level of product knowledge and commercial awareness.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Senior Buyer should have:
* Experience in a buying role within the home and lifestyle sector.
* Strong negotiation and supplier management skills, preferably FE.
* A strong commercial awareness and understanding of the homeware market.
* Ability and commitment to working in a fully office-based role.
* The ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Proficiency in using retail and procurement software.
