Systems and Applications Engineer (QCS / Analyser) Are you one of a number of enthusiastic and self-driven Systems and Applications Engineers we need to join our UK regional customer support teams for the UK and Ireland? Are you a skilled systems engineer with experience of supporting customers in the pulp & paper and energy or allied industries? Valmet (Automation Solutions Business Area) provides total power plant and process automation as well as controls and measurement solutions for the paper making industry, amongst others. These solutions utilize Valmet’s high technology DCS, QCS, Analysers and Measurements, Information Management and Machine Condition Monitoring Systems. Reporting to the Area Service Manager, your office will be located in Warrington, Cheshire; remote working may be possible depending on applicant. The Role: You will adhere to regulatory and Company health, safety and environmental policy and, as this is a customer-facing role, you will be required to positively influence the Valmet reputation by displaying professional dedication toward customer service. You will be involved in the delivery of projects, maintenance and breakdown services to Valmet’s UK installed base customers within the Paper Making, Power Generation, Process industries, Minerals and the Marine sectors. Whilst primarily employed to look after Valmet’s growing installed base in your North West England region, there will be necessity to travel within the UK, and occasionally within the EU, with resulting time away from home. Occasionally, you will be required to support customers’ shut periods which will involve short periods away from home and significant paid overtime. You will provide routine and on demand customer service including software development and documentation, maintenance / inspection of automation systems, which will include providing periodic out of hours ‘On-Call’ emergency support. Expectations: You will Be highly motivated, with excellent English written and verbal communication skills and the ability to form and maintain working relationships with customers and colleagues at all levels. Have knowledge of Quality Control Systems (QCS) on-line measurement devices. Have a good working knowledge of industrial automation systems, e.g., DCS, PLC, SCADA, HMI, SIS. Have experience commissioning or maintaining instrumentation. Have experience of field service work with regional (North West) travel with occasionally travelling beyond the region. Be able to plan and work independently and efficiently in the delivery of service projects Ability to work autonomously, using your own initiative, as part of the customer support team. Be collaborative and supportive in your approach to working as part of a team Ability and willingness to travel Be a time-served Electrician/ Instrument Engineer (C&I) with technical qualifications. e.g. City & Guilds, BTEC, ONC, NVQ (NQF Level 3) and relevant experience. Be able to diagnose, repair and maintain electrical and instrumentation systems Have experience of providing detailed project / service documentation in an accurate and timely manner Be able to effectively outline, promote and recommend the Company’s products / services and solutions to provide for the long-term operation / improvement of customer processes Have a full valid UK driving license. You may Have experience of Valmet DNA DCS /QCS Have experience with on-line and offline analysers. Be qualified to HNC / HND level in a relevant Engineering discipline Have experience of identifying business opportunities at customers’ sites. Have previous experience of being on-call.
