Job summary
Clinical Support Worker – 37.5 hours available. We are seeking a caring, dedicated, innovative and motivated Clinical Support Worker to work as part of our multidisciplinary team at Ward 5, West Cumberland Hospital. Ward 5 is a 28‑bed general medical ward where you will support holistic patient care.
Main duties of the job
Deliver high‑standard patient care with a caring approach and excellent communication skills. Shift pattern is days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.

Pay scheme and Contract
Band 3 – £24,937 to £26,598 per annum (Pro Rata, Permanent, Full‑time). Salary in Agenda for Change.

Due to recent UK immigration policy changes, candidates requiring a Health and Care Visa or Skilled Worker Visa should confirm eligibility before applying. Applicants who do not meet the eligibility criteria will not be processed.

Person Specification
Qualifications – Essential
* Level 3 vocational qualification or equivalent knowledge/experience in clinical care duties, including theoretical knowledge, care procedures, clinical observations and understanding of data protection and health & safety legislation.
* National Care Certificate or commitment to complete within 12 weeks of employment.
* Numeracy and literacy at Level 2.
Qualifications – Desirable
* Relevant additional training for Clinical Support Workers.

* Experience in health or social care.
* Record of clinical observations and ability to escalates changes or findings.
* Working knowledge of care‑providing legislation, safeguarding, GDPR, health and safety.
* Understanding of robust, accurate documentation and team working.
* Awareness of work‑related boundaries.

* Familiarity with current NHS and social care policies.
