Join our dynamic team as the Gas Turbine Mechanical Design Group Leader, where you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and excellence in gas turbine engineering. Imagine leading R&D projects, defining activities, and allocating resources to ensure successful outcomes. You will coordinate technical work within your team, ensuring that all deliverables are met while adhering to our Technical Guidelines and Standards. Your expertise will shine as you conduct technical reviews and provide invaluable support during concession reviews. Additionally, you will take on line management responsibilities, guiding your team’s performance and growth, while also stepping in for the Group Manager when needed.
How You’ll Make an Impact
1. Define and allocate resources for R&D projects, collaborating with project managers on planning activities.
2. Negotiate project deliverables and timelines on behalf of the Compressor Mechanical Design team.
3. Coordinate technical efforts within the team to ensure all agreed deliverables are met.
4. Conduct technical reviews and approve drawings, design schemes, and technical reports.
5. Provide expert-level technical support during concession review activities and manage allocated staff performance.
What You Bring
6. A degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 10 years in a technical role focused on gas turbine core engineering.
7. Strong knowledge of SGT Core Engine products, with desirable expertise in Compressor-Rotor components and subsystems.
8. Proven experience in leading R&D projects, with a solid understanding of PDP and/or PIP processes.
9. Familiarity with PLM2020 and experience in Root Cause Investigation, Decision Analysis, or FMEAs.
10. Knowledge of relevant manufacturing processes, including sand casting, grinding, milling, and forging.
