Position Overview

Ithaca Energy is accepting applications for the position of Operations Production Engineer, located in our Aberdeen Office. Occasional travel and offshore visits to Cygnus are required.

Reporting to the Production Lead, Cygnus Asset, the Operations Production Engineer will work as a core member of the Operations team, contributing to delivering optimum field production.

Responsibilities

* This role acts as the focal point, and primary communication route, for the offshore operations team regarding all production and well operations matter.
* Monitor day-to-day production system performance comprising Cygnus’s gas wells and topside gathering facilities at Cygnus Alpha and Bravo, which may include nodal analysis and integrated production modelling.
* Define well operating envelopes and issue well operating guidance as a means for offshore operations to optimise production.
* Act as an integrator across disciplines to lead the asset's production management process including field potential setting, loss tracking & reporting and where needed, facilitating root-cause/5-Why investigations.
* Manage operational well integrity surveillance and planned/corrective well maintenance & testing.
* Identify, direct and provide technical input to pursue of improvements that mitigate production threats and/or increase field potential.
* Support well (intervention) delivery which may include input to key operating data, operating procedures, technical design and assumptions and where needed, travel offshore during implementation.
* Technically responsible for Production Chemistry pertaining to well operations and flow assurance, and in addition, manage the production chemistry portfolio, e.g., chemicals sourcing, coordination of sampling & analysis and supporting offshore laboratory activities.

Qualifications & Experience

* Minimum educational requirement of an undergraduate engineering degree in a relevant discipline (chemical, mechanical, petroleum, etc.).
* The ideal candidate should have several years experience with an operating oil company and/or major service company or consultancy.
* Understanding of well operations and offshore production associated systems/equipment, including surveillance requirements.
* Understanding of nodal analysis and network modelling using the PETEX suite, flow assurance, rock mechanics, well completion design.
* Strong IT literacy and data analytics skills working with MS word, Power Point, Excel, PowerBI, AVEVA PI, databases.
* Good communication and influencing skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.

* Team player with ability to build strong working relationships between the various stakeholders.
