Our Procurement function is central to building the commercial and supply chain foundations required to deliver our first SMR and future fleet deployment. As part of this, Services procurement is critical — covering professional services, specialist support, consultancy, digital services, programme delivery partnerships and Alliance contracts that underpin our rapidly scaling organisation. To support this growth, we’re looking for a Procurement Manager – Services to lead high‑value sourcing activity, shape category strategies and manage complex, strategically important supplier relationships. Reporting to a Senior Category Manager, you’ll influence commercial strategy, enable programme delivery, and help build a high‑performance Services procurement capability for one of the UK’s most innovative engineering programmes. What you’ll be doing Lead the development of high‑value, complex services contracts and long‑term supplier relationships. Manage procurement activities across a broad Services category, including professional services, specialist support, consultancy, digital services, programme delivery partnerships and Alliance agreements. Establish and lead cross‑functional sourcing teams, ensuring collaboration, transparency and alignment with programme priorities. Run end‑to‑end procurement activity, including sourcing, tendering, negotiation, contract development, award and mobilisation. Manage supplier relationships and performance, ensuring robust governance, delivery assurance, commercial compliance and continuous improvement. Lead commercial negotiations for complex frameworks, MSAs, SoWs and rate‑based service agreements. Influence senior stakeholders across Engineering, Programme Delivery, Programme Controls, Finance, Digital, HR, Operations and Legal to shape early requirements and align service‑based strategy. Act as category subject‑matter expert, providing commercial leadership, market insight and strategic direction. Ensure a high level of governance, documentation and adherence to best‑practice sourcing processes throughout the procurement lifecycle. Contribute to and lead initiatives such as supplier consolidation, value engineering, contract standardisation, risk reduction and sustainability. Manage, coach and develop a team of Buyers and Senior Buyers, creating a high‑performing, business‑focused procurement function. This is a pivotal role supporting programme delivery, value optimisation and long‑term organisational capability. You’ll bring strong commercial judgement, leadership capability and the confidence to operate effectively within a fast‑paced, technically complex and rapidly evolving environment. What you’ll bring Experience managing complex services procurement — ideally across professional services, engineering, consulting, technical services or digital services. Experience with procurement of programme delivery partnerships or alliance‑style agreements (beneficial but not essential). Strong commercial acumen with a track record of complex negotiations, strategic sourcing and measurable value delivery. Experience leading cross‑functional teams and delivering outcomes in complex, regulated or project‑driven environments. Ability to interpret commercial, financial and technical information to present clear, actionable recommendations. Experience working with suppliers or partners in regulated sectors such as nuclear, energy, rail, aerospace, defence or major infrastructure. Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, including at senior levels. Strong planning, organisation and project management capability. Degree (or equivalent experience) is essential; MCIPS / MRICS desirable ; APM accreditation beneficial. Location & Ways of Working This role can be based from our Derby, Manchester or Warrington office. We operate hybrid working, with regular weekly office attendance expected.
