Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA) Location: Mablethorpe Salary: £89 - £100 per day (Depending on experience) Start: Immediate Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time Are you ready to support and empower young people with emotional and behavioural needs to thrive in and beyond the classroom? A nurturing and inclusive school in Mablethorpe is seeking a committed and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA) to support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH and additional needs. Help manage behaviour using de-escalation strategies and positive reinforcement. Assist in delivering a tailored curriculum focused on emotional well-being and academic growth. Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to implement support strategies. Foster a safe, trusting, and structured learning environment. Monitor and report on student progress and behaviour. Requirements: Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or challenging behaviour. A calm, patient, and empathetic approach. Ability to build strong, positive relationships with pupils who may struggle to trust adults. Confidence in managing behaviour and supporting emotional regulation. Understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and inclusive practice. Experience in SEN, youth work, care, or behaviour support is highly desirable.
