Role: Senior Finance Analyst - Trade
At NEXT, we are one of the UK’s largest fashion retailers and a publicly listed company. We are seeking a Trade Finance Analyst to join our Trade Finance Team within the Commercial Finance function. The team manages all sales reporting and analysis for our annual sales exceeding £5bn.
Based at our Head Office in Leicester, this role involves working closely with the Trade Finance Manager, reporting on sales across various revenue streams, and analyzing sales performance industry-wide. Responsibilities include daily, weekly, and ad hoc reporting, as well as providing insights for external communications.
The analyst will act as a business partner to the Commercial Finance teams, helping define data needs and developing reliable information. They will also serve as a liaison between Finance and the Trade Team, deputize for the Trade Finance Manager, and support senior management meetings and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Analysis and Reporting:
o Extract, manipulate, and analyze data from various sources using software tools.
o Create and maintain reports and dashboards to monitor KPIs and identify trends.
o Interpret data to generate actionable insights.
2. Stakeholder Communication:
o Update stakeholders on project progress, findings, and recommendations, including executives and external partners.
What We Are Looking For:
An experienced analyst with strong analytical and reporting skills, ideally with some professional qualification (not essential depending on experience).
Experience working within a Finance team.
Proven reporting skills; experience with modeling or profitability analysis is a plus.
Stakeholder management and influencing skills.
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities.
Advanced Excel and reporting skills, with the ability to analyze large data volumes efficiently.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong prioritization skills and a flexible, can-do attitude.
