Main duties of the job
Provide high-quality, patient-centred general medical services to the practice population
Undertake a mix of face-to-face and telephone
Assess, diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of acute and chronic conditions
Prescribe safely and effectively in line with current guidelines and best practice
Manage and monitor long‑term conditions
Review and action pathology results, clinical correspondence, and other patient‑related documentation
Participate in duty doctor rota as required
Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team, including nurses, pharmacists, and allied health professionals
Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records in line with practice and GMC standards
Support safeguarding responsibilities for both children and vulnerable adults
Contribute to quality improvement, audits, and practice development initiatives
Engage in continued professional development and appraisal processes
Attend weekly clinical meetings

Job responsibilities
Participate in the duty doctor/urgent care rota
Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team, including nursing, pharmacy, and administrative staff
Contribute to practice meetings, clinical discussions, and service development
Support the delivery of QOF and other contractual requirements
Engage in clinical governance, audits, and quality improvement activities
Safeguarding & Compliance:
Adhere to safeguarding policies for children and vulnerable adults
Work in line with GMC guidance and professional standards
Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with data protection regulations

Full registration with the GMC essential
