Are you an experienced care professional with a passion for leading teams and delivering exceptional person-centred care? Penrice House, a well-established residential care home with a rich heritage, is seeking a dedicated Senior Team Leader to join our compassionate and committed team.
About the Role
As a Senior Team Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality care to our residents. You'll lead by example, support staff development, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations. This is a hands-on leadership role where your integrity, professionalism, and empathy will make a real difference.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support care staff during shifts, acting as a role model.
* Ensure high standards of care are maintained and monitored.
* Conduct detailed handovers and communicate effectively with staff and external agencies.
* Manage shift coverage, including staff absence due to illness.
* Support new staff with induction and supervision.
* Maintain accurate records including care plans, medication, health and safety, and finance.
* Respond to residents' medical needs and liaise with healthcare professionals.
* Administer and manage medication in line with policy and regulatory guidance.
* Uphold safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional standards at all times.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
* NVQ Level 3 or Diploma in Health and Social Care or willing to work towards
* Minimum 2 years' experience in elderly care
* Certificates in Moving & Handling, Health & Safety, and First Aid
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to lead with empathy and professionalism
* Knowledge of care planning, safeguarding, and incident reporting
Desirable:
* Up-to-date Medication and Safeguarding training
* Access to transport due to location
