An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading regional contractor on a flagship affordable housing scheme in Bristol. This is a £30 million development consisting of 104 units for a prominent housing association.
Due to an internal promotion, we are looking to bring in a commercial lead to take ownership of this project, overseeing all aspects of cost management and subcontractor procurement from start to finish.
About the Role:
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be the commercial lead on this project, responsible for:

Managing all commercial aspects of the project lifecycle
*
Procuring and managing subcontractor packages
*
Monitoring budgets and forecasting costs throughout the build
*
Preparing valuations, payments, CVRs, and final accounts
*
Supporting contract negotiations and ensuring compliance with contractual terms
*
Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager and working closely with the site delivery team
*
Providing cost analysis and advice to ensure commercial success
This is a standalone role on a high-profile affordable housing scheme, so experience in a similar setting is essential.
Requirements:

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior QS within the housebuilding or residential construction sector
*
A solid understanding of JCT contracts
*
Strong commercial acumen and excellent negotiation skills
*
Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team
*
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
*
Full UK driving licence
Qualifications:
*
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
*
RICS or CIOB membership (preferred, not essential)
