Lead Radiographer for Cardiac Catheterisation

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Radiographer to lead the Radiology provision of our Cardiac Catheterisation service at Colchester Hospital.
You will work in our combined Interventional Radiology & Cardiac Angiography (IRCA) unit.
The dedicated Cardiac Cath Lab runs Monday - Friday for procedures such as diagnostic coronary angiography and pacemaker implants and liaises closely with other local hospitals for those needing interventional procedures. Our interventional Radiology service provides a 24/7 service for which Colchester is the regional vascular centre, performing procedures including RIGs, portacath insertions, ureteric stents, fibroid and prostate embolisations. We also accept patients from across the region for urgent, life‑saving procedures such as EVAR, FEVAR, embolisation, thrombolysis and angioplasty.
This post requires a rotational on‑call commitment, for which there is a 45‑minute call‑out time, once appropriate training has been provided. There is also an opportunity to rotate into CT.
Main duties of the job
 * Accountable for the daily management of the staff workflow adhering to agreed protocols
 * Provide significant knowledge and expertise in the clinical field of area
 * Lead RPS for the your Imaging modality and keep up to date with IR(ME)R policies cascaded from the IR(ME)R Lead
 * Undertake imaging to a high professional standard and ensuring good radiation governance processes are in place to support both patients and staff
 * Accountable for reviewing your area policies, competency frameworks and staff training in order to support and maintain effective and efficient operation of the department enabling compliance with both national and local access targets

Person Specification
Qualifications
 * Registered radiographer (Health Care Professions Council)
 * Evidence of clinical training and personal motivation is essential
 * Management Course
 * Education at Masters level
 * Up to date relevant RPS course
Experience
 * Proven experience working in a role with regular rotation through the department
 * Current experience of managing a complex area of work and leading a multidisciplinary team.
 * Current experience of staff management in MDT working
 * Experience of accountability for patient flow and access targets.
 * Involvement with devising and implementing competency frameworks for staff training
 * Experience of investigating DATIX incidents and managing outcomes
