Lead Learning in Upper Key Stage 2 We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and committed Year 5 Teacher to join our primary school in Northampton, starting as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity to teach upper Key Stage 2 pupils, supporting their academic and personal development as they prepare for the transition into Year 6 and beyond. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons across the curriculum, providing challenge and support to meet the needs of all learners. You will play a key role in developing pupils’ literacy, numeracy, and wider skills, fostering independence, confidence, and a love of learning. Role Responsibilities Plan, deliver, and assess lessons across the Year 5 curriculum in line with the National Curriculum Monitor pupil progress using assessment data to inform planning and target support Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and higher-attaining learners Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes engagement and curiosity Support pupils’ social, emotional, and personal development Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and senior leaders to maintain high standards and consistency Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress and achievements Participate in staff meetings, CPD sessions, and school-wide initiatives Encourage pupils to develop independence, resilience, and confidence in their learning This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible difference in pupils’ learning journeys at a critical stage in their education.
