Zero2Five are proud to be working with a quality private nursery looking to employ an experienced Nursery Manager for their setting near Oadby, Leicester. The successful candidate will promote the aims and objectives of the nursery for children from birth to 5 years, implementing and leading the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework and other legal/statutory frameworks. You will work closely with the Area Manager to support staff in setting nursery standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure the welfare and safety of children, acting on child protection concerns following LSCB guidelines.
* Plan staff rotas and holidays, maintaining adequate staffing ratios per Ofsted and nursery procedures.
* Own responsibility for Health and Safety standards, ensuring staff compliance and awareness.
* Attend relevant training, conferences, and meetings for professional development and support staff development.
* Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the nursery.
* Act as a nursery ambassador and lead by example.
* Liaise with agencies, HR, and the Area Manager as needed. Ensure monthly staff meetings are planned.
* Support staff development through guidance and training, including students and volunteers.
* Promote equal opportunities and address any instances of discrimination or racism.
* Communicate with parents/carers, providing regular updates and high-quality customer service.
* Work with parents/carers and staff to meet children's needs and consider parental choices.
* Organize events like parents evenings, publicity, open weekends, and outings, including marketing and fundraising.
* Oversee administrative procedures, including registration and place allocation.
* Ensure the upkeep of the building, equipment, and furnishings, managing budgets effectively.
Essential Criteria
* Minimum Level 5 Early Years Qualification
* At least 2 years of management experience
* Experience implementing the EYFS
* Good knowledge of legislation such as EYFS, SEND, safeguarding, Childcare Act 2006, and Health and Safety
* Up-to-date Paediatric First Aid certificate
* Experience working with parents and families
* Excellent time management and organizational skills
