Your Newpany:We are recruiting a Stores person to work at HMP Whatton, expected to be ongoing for the next few months. This is a long-term temporary contract offering sociable, full-time hours. There may be the option of a permanent job for the right candidate.
Your new role:As the Stores Person, you'll be involved in a wide range of tasks crucial to our daily operations. Your responsibilities will typically include:
1. To ensure parts are purchased at the best available prices.
2. To issue required stock to technicians on request and in a timely manner.
3. Ensure the return of parts/items that are not required or incorrectly ordered.
4. Liaise with suppliers regarding delivery dates of ordered parts.
5. Regular checks on impress stock to ensure levels are not running low.
6. Ensure adequate levels of required non-impress stock are kept at all times.
7. Keep the stores in a good state of cleanliness and tidiness at all times.
8. Inform technicians of any parts that have been delivered on their behalf.
9. Pack and send any items that need to be sent by courier to ensure safe delivery.
10. Provide a high level of Customer Service.
11. Ensure sufficient levels of PPE are available in the stores and ensure outgoing PPE is logged to the relevant person.
12. Carry out monthly Rolling Stock Checks.
13. Create Order Numbers for parts ordered and input data onto the system.
14. To provide order numbers to all Workshop staff on contract.
15. Book in and out all technical parts and operators manuals in Document Control Log.
To collect any parts locally as and when required.Details:Pay Frequency: WeeklyStandard Hourly Rate: £Working Days: Monday to FridayWorking Hours: 39 hours per weekWhat you'll need to succeedAll applicants who are interested in the position must pass Prison Clearance, which can take up to 8 weeks or more. You will need a passport or photo driving licence to apply for clearance. Once passed, this is valid for 5 years and can be transferred to any other prisons of a similar category.Skills

Experience
18. Experienced in a Stores' role within a workshop environment.
19. Parts supply chain and understanding of suppliers available
