Using advanced metals chemistry, you’ll help tackle the world’s biggest challenges – cutting emissions, powering modern life and supporting life‐saving technologies – by applying, refining and recycling metals that matter for a healthier, more sustainable, circular future.**The role**:As a Mechanical Engineering Apprentice, you will help drive our goals by:* Supporting the mechanical maintenance team with planned and reactive maintenance activities across site* Learning to maintain and repair mechanical plant equipment including pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, valves and pipework* Assisting with fault finding, inspections and basic mechanical fitting under supervision* Following safe systems of work and site safety procedures, taking responsibility for personal safety and correct use of PPE* Completing apprenticeship coursework and maintaining a training and development portfolio**Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:*** A minimum of 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades A\*–C including English, Maths and Science* An interest in engineering, mechanics or practical subjects* A strong awareness of safety and willingness to follow procedures* Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to work* The ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively with others*Even if you only match some of the skills, we’d love to hear from you to discuss further!****Due to the nature of this role applicants must be non-smokers and have been free from nicotine products for at least 3 months***## Recruitment Process for this role:* **Application:** Please upload your CV and complete the application questions.* **Recruiter Screening:** Take part in a telephone interview with one of our recruiters.* **Hiring Team Interview:** Attend an online interview with the hiring team.* **Final Stage:** Participate in an on-site interview and tour of the facility.**What we offer:**We make sure salaries are fair, competitive and aligned to individual roles, experience and responsibilities.
