Salary: Up to £42,950 dependent on skills and experience.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Ensure that all aspects of Welder approvals and Welding procedures are up to date and correctly maintained.
2. Interpret standards and specifications related to welding and associated processes.
3. Resolve shop floor and production welding-related problems.
4. Support continuous improvement practices within welding processes.
5. Advise Operations on the best welding processes to meet safety, quality, and cost objectives.
6. Collaborate globally with colleagues in the UK, Australia, and Canada to share best practices and lessons learned across programmes.
Your skills and experiences:
* High awareness of welding processes with practical skills across various welding techniques and equipment.
* Industry-recognized qualification in welding technology or willingness to obtain one.
* Knowledge of welding processes in shipbuilding, manufacturing, or similar heavy engineering environments.
* Ability to understand weld inspection and NDE techniques.

The BAE Systems Welding Engineering Team:
The team ensures compliance with standards and drives improvements in welding processes. With recent investments in robotic welding systems, we currently have five engineers and are expanding to support shipbuilding programmes on the Clyde. This role offers opportunities to develop skills, optimize processes, and influence future programmes.
