Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist – Kent Prisons In‑Reach Teams
Overview
The post holder will provide consultant leadership for the In‑Reach teams at HMP Rochester (4 PAs DCC), HMP Cookham Wood (2 PAs DCC) and HMP Maidstone (2 PAs DCC). The role also involves contributing to quality assurance activities, with 2 SPAs allocated in the job plan to support professional duties such as teaching, training, clinical management, clinical governance, service development, and research.
Responsibilities
* Deliver a broad range of clinical responsibilities for prisoners with acute and chronic mental illness, personality disorder, and ADHD.
* Manage the In‑Reach team caseload, with patient numbers subject to CPA management.
* Provide outpatient care at each site, and when required, conduct ward or emergency assessments.
* Triaging all referrals through the In‑Reach team.
* Complete a segregation round once a week at HMP Rochester.
* Work collaboratively within the integrated mental health multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications
The post holder will be eligible for inclusion in the Specialist Register in Forensic Psychiatry or General Adult Psychiatry.
