Role Overview:
We are recruiting an R&D Senior Scientist with extensive experience in cell biology tests and biocompatibility. The role involves supporting medical device development, providing technical support, and managing R&D team members. The position reports to the R&D Manager and is based in Winsford.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform cell biology assays such as viability, scratch, imaging, ELISA, anti-inflammatory screening, cytotoxicity, and MMP sequestration.
* Develop, optimize, and validate test methods for R&D projects.
* Act as SME in biocompatibility, reviewing documentation for product design and changes.
* Manage and motivate direct reports within the R&D team.
* Record data following GLP and R&D procedures.
* Conduct literature research to correlate findings.
* Maintain the tissue culture laboratory in compliance with standards.
* Ensure all practices meet current cell biology standards.
* Authorize scientific protocols, reports, publications, and presentations.
* Support marketing with technical content.
* Participate in departmental meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Maintain high standards of GLP and H&S in the laboratory.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Degree in Biological Sciences or related field.
* Experience with a broad range of in-vitro cellular assays.
* Experience in biocompatibility is desirable.
* Ability to interpret regulations independently.
* Effective team collaboration skills.
* Attention to detail and high scientific standards.
* Results-driven with good time management.
