Job Opportunity – Information Governance Officer Terms: Full-time, permanent Location: Home working with occasional requirement to attend Dudley Council Office location and/or school-based location. Salary: Grade 8 An opportunity has arisen to join the Corporate Information Governance Team (CIGT). The post is for an Information Governance Officer to work in the busy Information Governance Team. This is a full-time, permanent role. The Corporate Information Governance Team focuses on ensuring that the council has robust information governance controls in place and complies with Data Protection, Freedom of Information and Environmental Regulation responsibilities. The Team also operates a traded Information Governance service across schools both within and outside the Dudley Borough. You will be an important part of the team who are the “first point of contact” for those raising questions about data protection matters, members of the public wanting to access their own personal data, those wanting to access other information held by the Council or raise a data protection concern or complaint. Working as part of a team, and with your own workload, we require you to demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional/personal development, and willingness to undertake a recognised Information Governance based professional qualification (such as ISEB/BCS Data Protection or Freedom of Information Certification). To be considered for this role you will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of information governance. An excellent ability to work in a busy environment and manage the challenges that Information Governance compliance brings including compliance auditing, data breach and complaint management, and assisting with policy/procedure development. The role will support the Council’s Senior Information Governance Officer and Data Protection & Information Governance Manager (DPO).
