Role
This role plays a crucial part in ensuring sound financial management and good practice in a world-leading digital archive for the UK’s national heritage sector. The postholder will work alongside the existing ADS User Support and Finance Assistant to provide additional financial and administrative support for the Archaeology Data and Heritage Science Data Services, as well as for various European Commission funded research projects. Responsibilities include acting as a point of contact for financial queries, raising purchase orders, processing invoices, payments, expenses, casual payroll, monitoring partner spend, and preparing timesheets for research expenditure reporting. The role involves working with the HSDS Service Manager to deliver a programme of cascading grants and monitoring financial spend by partners.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications Needed
The ideal candidate will have experience in financial processing within a large organization, with familiarity with large financial systems such as Agresso being desirable. They should be able to accurately record, analyze, interpret, and report data, and proficient in digital technologies including Google applications and Microsoft Office. Effective verbal and written communication skills, organizational abilities, and a collaborative approach are essential. Knowledge of the UK archaeology and heritage science sectors, as well as experience working in Higher Education, are also desirable.
