Hays have been approached by a primary school located in the Wigan area who are looking to appoint a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant 5 days a week to start after the Easter half-term. This role will run until the end of the academic year. This is a mainstream school that looks to provide an education for all and like to enable children to acquire and develop a range of skills and concepts. The school are looking for a hard-working and dedicated teaching assistant toe and support this pupil.
Your new role
Your new role will be working on a 1:1 basis with a child with special educational needs. Your day will consist of providing one-to-one support for a child who is based in Reception. This child is working at pre-school level, so you should be adaptable and flexible to suit the needs of the children you will be supporting. This child does display challenging behaviour, so you will be required to have a strong SEN background.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, you must possess recent experience working with children and, ideally, previous experience supporting SEN children. You should feel confident working with children in a 1:1 setting as well as being friendly and enthusiastic. You will need to be available to start after the Easter half-term andmit to this role fully.
