Specialist Dietitian Upper Gastrointestinal Cancers, Band 6
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Specialist Dietitian to join our team in providing nutritional care to patients with upper gastrointestinal cancers.
Key Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist dietetic care to patients with upper GI cancer, including oesophageal, gastric and hepato-pancreatic and biliary cancers. This will involve working across the patient's entire treatment pathway, from diagnosis to post-surgery and longer term follow up. The role will also involve working closely with oncology and surgical consultants, advanced nurse practitioners, psychologists, cancer support workers, ward staff and dedicated Upper GI cancer nurse specialists.
Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need to have experience of working as a Specialist Dietitian within the NHS, preferably in an oncology setting. You should also have well-developed team working, communication, interpersonal and supervisory skills. Experience of delivering complex nutritional support, including enteral tube feeding is beneficial.
Working Arrangements: This role involves working across two hospital sites, Cheltenham General Hospital (CGH) & Gloucestershire Royal Hospital (GRH), providing support to both the oncology and surgical centres. The role requires flexibility to work outside normal hours on a weekly basis if required.
