Associate Director - Sales & Marketing at Bruin & Mental Health First Aider
Our client, a leading independent investor within the UK’s alternative investment and real estate sectors, has heritage of over 25 years raising funds from private clients, financial institutions, family offices, and independent financial advisors. They are now seeking an entrepreneurial and proactive Business Development Manager to join their growing distribution team. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven sales professional who thrives on building strong intermediary relationships and is passionate about delivering high-quality investment solutions, either having already worked in a field based sales role, or stepping up from a telephone based sales position.
The Business Development Manager will work closely with the Business Development Director and the wider team to drive capital raising across a specified product portfolio. The successful candidate will manage and develop a network of intermediaries, delivering investment opportunities to market through collaborative and strategic engagement.
The successful candidate will be involved in:
* Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the organisation’s investment products and the sectors in which they operate, including wealth management, financial advisory, and alternative investments.
* Build and nurture relationships with financial advisers, wealth managers, accountants, private banks, lawyers, and tax advisers, securing ongoing support for investment solutions.
* Execute a structured and strategic sales plan to meet and exceed capital-raising targets.
* Represent the client professionally at face-to-face meetings, presentations, and industry events, acting as a confident and credible ambassador.
* Work collaboratively across the wider distribution and investment teams to maximise market engagement.
* Support the organisation and hosting of client events, seminars, and presentations alongside the Business Development Director.
* Identify and act on new business opportunities across the intermediary landscape.
* Provide mentoring support to junior BDMs, aiding their professional growth and development.
* Apply a consultative sales approach to uncover client needs and position solutions that drive adviser engagement and investment commitment.
The ideal candidate will have:
* A strong background in financial intermediary sales, with a proven ability to grow and manage client portfolios.
* Previous experience with VCTs/EIS, Inheritance Tax Planning, Estate Planning, Later Life solutions, Trust-based investments, or Business Relief qualifying solutions is highly desirable.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to present complex investment solutions to senior stakeholders.
* Demonstrable ability to build and sustain long-term relationships with key intermediaries.
* Solid understanding of the tax benefits and structuring of financial products.
* Commercially astute, adaptable, and able to exercise sound professional judgement.
* Highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and target-driven, with a collaborative team approach.
