Cost Engineering Lead — Jacobs
Location: Wokingham, England, United Kingdom
We are seeking a Cost Engineering Lead to support cost management across programmes, focusing on cost control, forecasting and value optimization to influence project delivery and decisions.
Responsibilities
* Adhere to Programme Controls Policy, Strategy, and Plan, providing direction for Cost Engineering and aligning with other PMO functions.
* Develop and improve Cost Management systems, ensuring accurate cost control, change and baseline management, and robust forecasting.
* Establish Earned Value Management (EVM) and other performance measurement techniques to provide data-driven insights into project performance.
* Align risk and cost processes to support forecasts and proactively manage risk and change.
* Collaborate with Cost Engineers and Control Account Managers to standardize Cost Management processes and support other Programme Controls functions.
* Ensure the reported cost position is accurate and reconcilable, manage cost interfaces with other functional leads, and support monthly Board Reporting on cost-related matters.
What you’ll need
* Significant experience in Cost Engineering with expertise in cost management methodologies and techniques.
* Knowledge of estimating, scheduling, and risk management techniques; understanding of NEC3/4 contracts; familiarity with industry-standard Project Control Systems; and understanding of WBS and data structures.
* Strong client interface skills, with proficiency in report writing and presentations.
* Proactive, collaborative, goal-oriented, and resilient, capable of anticipating issues, working with teams, setting clear objectives, and maintaining performance under pressure.
* A relevant degree and membership in professional associations such as RICS, ACostE, or CICES.

Additional information
Jacobs operates a hybrid work environment and a 40 hour working week as standard. Ideally based in London or South East England.
