We are looking for a confident, organised, and reliable Cover Supervisor to join a secondary school team. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as Cover Supervisor:
* Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of the regular teacher.
* Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and ensure students remain on task.
* Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policies and expectations.
* Take the register and keep accurate records.
* Provide feedback to teaching staff about any issues or achievements during cover lessons.
* Support pupils with their learning where possible.
* Uphold the school’s safeguarding procedures at all times.
* Assist with break or lunchtime supervision if required.
Ideal Cover Supervisor:
* Good standard of education (minimum GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths).
* Previous experience working with young people (desirable).
* Confidence to manage a classroom and maintain discipline.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills as a Cover Supervisor.
* Flexible, adaptable, and professional approach.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils.
