Hays are working with a highly respected client in Bury St Edmunds who are looking for a Tax Executive to join their growing team.
This position would predominantly relate to the private client sector, being within the Trust and Estates team. The Trust and Estates team deal with legal andpliance matters for Trusts and Estates and also provide advice regarding tax and Trust structures for the associated families.
I am looking for someone who can confidently manage their own workload to tight deadlines, demonstrates excellent attention to detail, and has the ability to learn and applyplex information. Strongmunication skills are essential. You will also have experience working with Trusts and be a natural fit for their friendly yet professional workplace culture.
The role
1. Review of standard Trust & Estate self-assessment tax returns and personal tax returns, including related tax calculations.
2. Preparation ofplex Trust & Estate self-assessment tax returns and personal tax returns, including related tax calculations using the firm’s software (CCH), for review by a senior member of staff. All related correspondence with clients, HM Revenue & Customs and third parties as required.
3. Review of standard Trust & Estate Accounts.
4. Preparation ofplex Trust & Estate Accounts using the firm’s software (CCH Trust Accounts), for review by a senior member of staff.
5. Monitoring deadlines on Trusts and Estates such as annualpliance, ten yearly charges and beneficial entitlements.
6. Dealing with the day-to-day client administration.
7. Preparation ofplex and review of standard Inheritance Tax returns for Trusts and Estates.
8. Preparation of ad hoc advisory work, such as advising on Trust distributions, for review by a senior member of staff.
9. Supporting and training other members of the Trusts and Estates Team.
10. Provide support in dealing with telephone calls, client meetings, engagement letters and general office administration.
11. Carry out any other duties to meet with the needs of the business.
Skills Required
12. The ideal candidate would either have 3-5 years relevant experience working in Trusts and Estates.
13. Full/part qualification in CTA or STEP
14. You need the ability to manage your own time and work to deadlines
15. You will have tomunicate effectively with other team members and have the ability to work well in a team as a whole
16. You will need to have great attention to detail
17. Depending on the candidate and current qualifications and experience, study support towards further qualifications is available.
