This is an opportunity for a qualified Drama Teacher with excellent academic credentials to teach within a dynamic and supportive school. This role would suit an outstanding Drama Teacher with a passion for their subject and a desire to work in a thriving co-ed Boarding and Day school.
St Lawrence College has a long record of providing an excellent academic education within a supportive community. We have recently entered the High-Performance Learning (HPL) Fellowship of World Class Schools, and our aim is to maximise the performance of every pupil, ensuring that they leave school equipped with the knowledge, skills and qualities that will serve them well for university, the workplace and life.
The College’s very successful Drama Department has a high profile, with teachers who are passionate about their subject and committed to bringing out the very best in the pupils. It is a supportive and forward-thinking department, where colleagues are used to collaborating over planning, projects and best practice.
The ideal candidate will be a skilled classroom practitioner with experience of teaching Drama to GCSE, as well as being passionate about their subject and unstinting in their desire to pass on their enthusiasm to eager and receptive pupils.
All colleagues are expected to act as a pastoral tutor, attached to a day or boarding house, and should be willing to be involved with the wider life of a busy boarding and day school.
We are seeking a person with a genuine commitment to high academic and professional standards and full engagement in the ongoing development of the department. This post would suit either an experienced teacher of Drama or a new entrant to the profession who would be trained and supported to develop their teaching practice. Full statutory induction is provided for ECTs.
This role is being offered as 0.8 FTE Fixed Term Maternity Cover for initially 6 months.
