Job Description:
Play a leading role in risk management at Amazon, where we have a history and tradition of leading the world in innovative technologies and services. As a member of the Amazon Web Services’ Risk and Resiliency team, you will partner with stakeholders across the organization to shape the future of AWS’ evolving risk landscape. You will play a key role in site selection and site due diligence for new and existing AWS regions. This involves compiling and analyzing site-specific information that may impact development costs, schedules, or present risks to datacenter infrastructure operation. This may include assessment of (i) permitting and land use data, (ii) utility availability and reliability, (iii) natural hazard exposure, (iv) environmental risks, (v) adjacency risks, and (vi) legal risks. You will engage, direct, and manage external consultants and experts to analyze risks and develop mitigations. Additionally, you will drive continuous assessment of hazards and risks across AWS’s global datacenter portfolio, identifying, assessing, and prioritizing risks and mitigations to improve infrastructure resilience. Regular engagement with stakeholders and reporting to AWS leaders will ensure risks are appropriately identified, communicated, and managed.
AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS):
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS’s global infrastructure, supporting all data centers and equipment to ensure continual service for customers. We work on challenging problems with many variables impacting the supply chain, seeking talented individuals eager to contribute.
You will join a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. Collaboration across AWS will help us deliver high safety and security standards while providing extensive capacity cost-effectively. We foster an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers ownership.
