About the role:
Power Systems is a business unit within the JCB Group responsible for the design, development, and manufacture of engines for both JCB and OEM applications.
Due to an exciting period of growth, we have released the role for a Supplier Quality Engineer for our award-winning engines. Reporting into the Quality Manager this position will join our professional, dynamic team to support the delivery of business objectives through the development and implementation of excellent quality practices.
What does this roleinvolve day to day?
* You’ll monitor, control and continuously improve supplier quality to ensure components brought into the assembly plant are consistently to a high standard
* You’ll audit suppliers including PPAP, coordination of 8D resolution, and use of statistical analysis tools to verify suppliers’ processes are to an acceptable standard.
* You’ll demonstrate extensive knowledge of supplier improvement across a range of manufacturing methodologies.
* Supplier Quality Management of Current Product parts focussed on Castings based commodity (Blocks / Heads / Flywheel / Gearcase and manifolds
This will be suited to you if
* You have knowledge of engine operation, preferably in an off-highway environment.
* You’re a trained auditor with extensive proven experience of engine component manufacture and automotive quality systems.
* You’re familiar with ISO9001:2015 and IATF16949 as well as fully conversant with AIAG Core Tools & CQI Special process Manuals.
* Proficient in APQP and PPAP processes.
* You demonstrate extensive knowledge of supplier improvement across a range of manufacturing methodologies particularly in Casting and Machining.
* You’re an excellent team worker with a passion for the product and the tenacity needed to see things through.
* You will be comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy.
* You are comfortable with regular travel both within the UK and overseas.
