We are on the hunt for a passionate, experienced Duty Manager to join the pre-opening team for a new all-day and late-night venue concept arriving in East London in June.

The role:
As a key player of the on-site team, you will be responsible for the day to day upkeep of the site to ensure all our communal spaces are in excellent condition for all of our visitors and members. The ideal candidate will have experience in the hospitality, event, festival or hotel industries.
The Duty Managers are the face of the venue and they make sure the venue is a safe, welcoming and exciting place to visit. They take the lead on managing the front of house and the venue while on shift, and they form part of the operations team making sure that the venue looks, feels and functions at its best.
This role will give you a broad understanding of working within a bar and events venue, and the delivery of a wide range of programming and activities. This role is a great opportunity for anyone wishing to progress in a career in bar environments, venue operations and hospitality in general.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations & Maintenance
* Assist with site maintenance and coordinating our security and cleaning teams.
* Ensure policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
* Liaise with contractors and ensure job sheets are completed to an acceptable standard.
* Assist with tenant issues/maintenance management.
* Liaise with the local police, fire and environmental health organisations if and when they visit the site.
* Continuously take initiative to improve the site and suggest ideas to the wider team to further enhance and activate the site.
* Ensure that risk assessments are followed at all times, and that all necessary health
* and safety measures are in place.
* Take responsibility for the safety and security of staff, Members and customers within the venue.
* Uphold Health and Safety standards and fire safety, leading potential evacuation of the building and reporting all issues to the Operations Manager.
* Respond to any first aid or security issues that may arise, liaising with emergency services when required, and completing necessary paperwork.
Events, Hospitality & Venue Management
* Liaise with bar staff, promoters and visiting companies to ensure the smooth running of front of house and bar operations.
* Take responsibility for how the venue looks, driving the continual improvement of aesthetics, enticing customers and collaborators back to the venue by ensuring we are maximising the potential of the space.
* Give briefing on event procedural instructions to the front of house casuals, allowing them to fulfil the needs of any event.
* Manage the front of house team to ensure financial targets are met or exceeded, that high standards of all bar and dispense equipment are maintained and we ensure an efficient rate of service.
* Ensure thorough, detailed reports are written at the end of all shifts and circulated to key members of the venue team on time.
* Ensure the smooth running of bar service, keeping best practices in place, and that the responsible and safe service of alcohol is maintained, reporting any issues or improvements to the Operations Manager.
* Brief and manage the security team, ensuring that the venues needs are communicated clearly, reporting any issues to the Operations Manager.
* Ensure we are always compliant with the terms set out in our licence on both standard and late licences.
* Be responsible for opening and securely closing down the building to the general public.
* For venue-produced events, supporting with running an effective, efficient and
* reliable box office using our ticketing systems.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential
* Experience of working in a busy multi-purpose or events venue, or bar environment, etc.
Desirable
* First aid qualification
* SIA badge (or happy to get the SIA qualification)
* Food hygiene qualification
* Personal licence holder
* Experience of working with AV/lighting equipment
* Basic maintenance skills
