Stage Door Casual
Are you friendly, reliable, and love being at the heart of the action? We’re looking for a Stage Door Casual to be the welcoming face of our theatre.
As a Stage Door Casual, you will be a key member of the venue team. This is a casual role, with shifts available over 7 days covering morning, afternoon and evening shifts, depending on the productions, events and maintenance scheduled into the venue. Working in collaboration with all departments, the role reports to the Stage Door Supervisor and ensures that our interactions with visiting companies and contractors is efficient and professional at all times. You’ll greet visiting companies and contractors, manage access to the venue, operate essential systems such as the fire panel, building security, and CCTV, and be the main communicator across the venue. No two days are ever the same – one shift you might be welcoming a major touring production, the next you’re fulfilling rider requests for major music acts.

The New Theatre Oxford is the main commercial theatre in Oxford and has a capacity of nearly 1,800 people. There has been a theatre on the corner of George Street for almost 170 years. The first theatre built in 1836 was known commonly as the 'Vic', and later as the 'Theatre Royale' and has previously been the home of Oxford University Dramatic Society. The theatre was damaged by fire in 1892 and enlarged in 1908, and the present building dates from 1933, opening in 1934. Our venue hosts touring productions ranging from musicals, comedians, music events and we host private conferences.
