Are you someone with skills in community-based conservation, biodiversity, developing skills in nature who is interested in supporting people, families and communities to conserve, restore and protect green and blue spaces?
Groundwork Wales is seeking a part time project officer (30 hours over 4 days per week, Monday to Thursday). The role is fixed term until the end of February 2026. Training will be provided to support your development within this role.
Position
Part Time Project Officer
Working Hours: 30 hours to be worked over 4 days (Monday – Thursday)
Location: Pontllanfraith, Blackwood, with travel across the region and visits to community hubs.
Salary Range: £24,000 to £26,000 per annum pro rata
Contract Tenure: Fixed Term (until February 2026)

Key Responsibilities
* Support the development and delivery of community nature-based programmes
* Maintain effective relationships with partner organisations
* Identify and recruit groups, individuals, and partners to participate in programme activities
* Supervise participants to develop environmental conservation and interpersonal skills
* Deliver accredited courses and provide 1:1 mentoring sessions
* Record progress towards targets and assist with report preparation for funding bodies and marketing
* Assist with identifying and applying for additional funding opportunities
Requirements
* A full current driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes
* Familiarity with community work practices and related legislation
* Commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults
* Adherence to GDPR regulations regarding personal information
* Commitment to ensuring the health and safety of all involved in Groundwork Wales’ work
* A DBS check will be carried out for this post.
