CNC Miller Programmer / Setter / Operator

£22,000 – £40,000 depending on skill, experience and overtime
Ambitions Personnel are currently recruiting for a skilled CNC Miller – Programmer, Setter and Operator to join a well-established and respected engineering and manufacturing company based in Kirkby-in-Ashfield.
Due to continued growth and expansion of their customer base, our client is looking to strengthen their machining team with an experienced engineer who can programme, set and operate CNC milling machines within a high-precision manufacturing environment.
The company specialises in machining, fabrication and assembly, producing precision components for a wide range of industries including Energy, Medical, Defence, Rail, Aerospace, Transport and Oil Exploration.

The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines to produce high precision components within a busy manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines
2. Machining complex components from materials including Aluminium, Alloy Steel, Stainless Steel, Inconel and Titanium
3. Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
4. Changing tooling and setting cutting parameters
5. Inspecting components to ensure they meet specification
6. Using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, plug gauges, screw plugs and ring gauges
7. Working both independently and as part of a skilled engineering team
Candidate Requirements
8. Solid experience programming CNC milling machines
9. Previous setting and operating experience, ideally with Heidenhain controls
10. Experience machining medium to large components
11. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
12. Confident using engineering measuring equipment
13. Strong communication and time management skills
14. Ability to work using your own initiative
15. Team player with a proactive attitude
Ideal Candidate
16. Able to program, set and operate Heidenhain control systems
17. Confident writing and editing CNC programs
18. Experienced working to tight tolerances
19. Experience with medium to large batch production
20. Comfortable machining components up to 2 metres in length using lifting equipment
21. Completed a CNC machining apprenticeship or able to demonstrate 10+ years’ relevant experience
22. Strong knowledge of 3–4 axis CNC machines, cutting speeds and feeds, and geometric tolerances
23. Experience working within ISO 9001:2015 environments (desirable)
