Job Description
As a Requirements Engineer, you will join our team to support our activities within the Aerospace sector.
You will play a key role in developing a comprehensive and traceable set of requirements to support the mechanical design of a new product. Working closely with engineering and programme teams, you will translate stakeholder needs, legacy data, and regulatory expectations into clear, structured, and verifiable requirements within a regulated environment.
* Location: Bicester
* On Site: 2-3 days per week
* Clearance: Eligibility for UK Security Clearance required
* Experience Level: Mid-Senior
Key Responsibilities:
* Extract, analyse, and define system and mechanical requirements from documentation, legacy projects, and stakeholder inputs
* Conduct workshops and stakeholder interviews to ensure completeness and alignment of requirements
* Establish and maintain end-to-end traceability across the project lifecycle
* Prioritise requirements in collaboration with engineering and programme leadership
* Validate and verify requirements against stakeholder needs and regulatory standards
* Support mechanical design teams with requirements clarification and compliance evidence
* Ensure requirements are clear, structured, and testable
Qualifications
Required Skills:
* Strong experience in requirements engineering and management
* Proven ability to define, structure, and maintain traceable requirements
* Experience working with requirements management tools (e.g. Codebeamer, DOORS, Jira, Azure DevOps)
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex technical problems into structured requirements
* Experience working within regulated engineering environments
Required Qualifications:
* A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
* Experience as a Mechanical Engineer, ideally within electric motors or rotating machinery
* Demonstrated experience supporting product development or system design activities
Desirable Skills:
* Experience within aerospace, automotive, or defence sectors
* Understanding of verification and validation methods for requirement compliance
* Familiarity with Agile or structured product development processes
* Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
