About the role
We are currently recruiting for Support Workers to join our team in Mansfield, where we support two adult males with complex needs in a welcoming home environment. This recruitment follows an increase in commissioned hours to support one of the people returning home.
You’ll be part of a close-knit team providing 1:1 and 2:1 support, helping the people we support to live independently, build confidence, and enjoy meaningful activities. We are particularly keen to hear from people with experience in care or support roles, but if you're new to the sector and bring the right values and enthusiasm, we’ll provide all the training you need to succeed.
What You’ll Be Doing
Supporting people with daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, and budgeting.
Encouraging participation in hobbies and community activities like swimming, football, gardening, and trips to local cafés.
Providing emotional support and promoting wellbeing.
Supporting with personal care, medication, and health appointments.
Working collaboratively with families, professionals, and your team.
Helping people supported to develop communication strategies and make informed choices.
Supporting people using approaches such as Total Communication, Trauma-Informed Practice, and Positive Behaviour Support.
What we need from you?
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team at Perthyn. As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for adults with learning disabilities. Effective communication skills, as clear and compassionate communication is essential to build positive relationships.
Flexibility in adapting to different routines and providing support tailored to each person’s unique requirements.
Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively with other staff members and professionals.
Willingness to undergo training to support people supported with specific health need.
Your rewards
Full and part time posts are available, with a full-time basic salary of £25,466.
Earn approximately an additional £3,000 per year by completing 1 weekly sleep-in shift £6,000 for 2 sleep-in shifts a week!
Availability of overtime - e.g., 1 extra shift per week can earn you an additional £4,400 per year.
Holiday Scheme: Annual leave starting at 22 days, plus Bank Holidays (increasing to 26 days)
DBS Certificate: Costs covered by the company.
Sleep-in Shifts: Paid at £60 per night in addition to basic salary.
Occupational Sick Pay: Up to 3 months full pay and 3 months half pay.
Induction, Support, and Development: Fully funded comprehensive induction, ongoing training, and qualification in Health & Social Care
