Find out more about Gibside here: Gibside | Tyne & Wear | National TrustYou’ll work as part of a team to set up Gibside for summer, creating a festival feeling by installing bunting, flags, selfie stations and plenty of play equipment. During the summer holidays you will be responsible for delivering a number of drop-in activities to get visitors active outdoors, including sport sessions, sessions with external organisations, and lots of other fun things with our visitors.For this year's Summer of Play national programming event, we are dedicated to a fun and immersive experience, creating play zones across the site to ensure delight at every turn. You will be responsible for setting up play equipment, checking it throughout the day ensuring it is presentable and safe, and engaging with families on the many different play opportunities around the site. You'll contribute to the evaluation of our Summer of Play through engaging with families in order to find out out what they enjoyed and what could be improved. Every summer, around 50,000 people visit Gibside, with many of those visiting our flagship event: 'Summer of Play'. You’ll plan and deliver predominantly sports and other active events and activities that create lasting, joyful memories for our visitors over the summer holidays. You may also support other activities such as crafts. You'll be enthusiastic about inspiring children and families, and enjoy spending time outdoors in all weathers in this active role. This role involves manual handling, as you will be setting up activities and equipment.Salary: £13.25 per hour Contract Duration: Fixed term until 13th September 2026Contract Type: This is a zero-hour contract, meaning we can’t guarantee a set number of hours each week. While we aim to provide a consistent work pattern, flexibility is needed as schedules may change based on business needs. We’ll try to give as much notice as possible.
