Vickerstock are partnering with a well-established food business supplying premium products to a loyal and growing customer base. We are currently recruiting for a Business Development Manager (Food) to join their Sales Team based in Newry.

What's on offer:
1. £40,000 - £45,000 salary (depending on experience)
2. 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
3. Fully onsite position
Your day to day
Reporting to the MD, the Business Development Manager (Food) will be responsible for managing and developing key customer relationships while actively identifying new growth opportunities. You will drive revenue growth, retention and long-term partnerships, acting as the primary commercial contact for strategic accounts and contributing to wider business development strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management & Relationship Development
4. Act as the main point of contact for assigned customers
5. Build strong, trusted partnerships with key stakeholders
6. Conduct regular account reviews and performance updates
7. Develop a deep understanding of customer needs and objectives
Business Development & Commercial Growth
8. Identify and deliver growth opportunities within existing accounts
9. Proactively seek and secure new business opportunities
10. Monitor account performance and profitability
11. Forecast sales and contribute to commercial planning and strategy
12. Support pricing, negotiation and contract discussions
Service Delivery & Cross-Functional Collaboration
13. Ensure smooth and efficient delivery of products and services
14. Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues and improve processes
15. Escalate risks where necessary
16. Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and retention
Reporting & Analysis
17. Track KPIs and account performance metrics
18. Prepare reports and analyse commercial trends
19. Provide insight to support strategic decision-making
Your essential ingredients
20. Proven experience in business development, account management, sales, or a client-facing role within the food sector
21. Strong relationship-building and communication skills
22. Commercial awareness with a results-driven mindset
23. Strategic planning and negotiation ability
24. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
25. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
26. Ability to commute to Newry
Desirable:
27. Experience managing high-value or strategic accounts
28. Industry-specific knowledge (food manufacturing/FMCG, ideally meat)
