About the role
As a Partner on our service counters, you'll have the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and passion for food while feeling proud of how it is ethically sourced. You will recommend recipes to customers and bring our ethos - passionate Partners serving food lovers - to life.
You'll use your enthusiasm and friendliness to build lasting relationships with customers, making a positive impression of the Waitrose brand and encouraging repeat visits by earning their trust and loyalty. You will also help maximize sales and profit.
Key Responsibilities
* Take responsibility for your own food counter, ensuring the highest standards of presentation and hygiene at all times.
* Manage stock levels to ensure popular products are available.
* Handle open food carefully, following all health & safety protocols, and help reduce food wastage.
* Maintain knowledge of new products and understand Waitrose's food values, such as animal welfare.
* Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when required.
Essential skills/experience you'll need
* Effective communication skills to work well as part of a team and with customers.
Desirable skills/experience you may have
* Experience in a customer-facing role.
* Experience in catering or hospitality environments.
* Up-to-date knowledge and strong interest in food and drink trends.
* A flexible approach to support the whole branch.
