Brief Description
We are looking for a proactive and organised individual to support our Project Management Team in the day-to-day delivery of key rail infrastructure projects. In this role, you’ll help ensure projects are managed in line with the Guide to Railway Investment Projects (GRIP), Railway Group standards, Network Rail’s internal processes, and all relevant legislation—including CDM Regulations. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced project environment while contributing to the safe, efficient, and successful delivery of essential railway improvements.
About The Role (External)
As part of the project team, you will support the delivery of infrastructure projects to agreed time, cost, and quality standards, ensuring all work is carried out safely and responsibly. You’ll assist in monitoring progress, reporting against programme targets, and developing systems to help manage change. A key part of your role includes processing possession and isolation applications within required timeframes and supporting safe working practices throughout the project lifecycle.
You will also monitor contractor performance, ensure compliance with HSQE requirements, and manage risk assessments and working methods. This role is ideal for someone organised and detail-focused, with a strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement, and a willingness to work within the Investment Competence Framework.
Essential
Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications
* Some management experience including project management.
* Educated to HND/HNC or similar standard.
* HSQE awareness, issues and principles.
* Must hold PTS
Desirable
* Membership (or working towards membership of) the Association for Project Management.
* A degree or equivalent.
* Knowledge of safety, quality, environmental, commercial and financial aspects.
* Understanding of possession planning.
